This led me to riff on my piano teacher’s dictum - she’d caution that ‘practice makes perfect’ receives a sub-optimization warning from ‘practice makes permanent’ if the intention is not to go beyond the practice to wonder why you are practicing, and to discover what the practice may yet yield. After reading this essay I’d offer ‘practice makes person’ or in this particular case ‘practice makes Perida’. Or, more generally, ‘practice makes perhaps’ - the driving motivation to continue the practice of creation.
